Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has hailed an Arsenal star as ‘world-class’ after what just happened at Euro 2024.

O’Hara in awe of ‘world-class’ Rice after key England moment vs Serbia

Speaking on TalkSport’s watch-along of England’s Euro 2024 opener against Serbia, O’Hara was full of praise for one moment from Declan Rice after the Arsenal midfielder made a key block to deny their group-stage rivals from scoring.

O’Hara said about the block: “That is where Declan Rice is world-class. He sees that the centre-half is out of position and he drops into it. I don’t care what anyone says, he’s world-class, 100%.”

With Arsenal fans full of praise for Rice at full-time last night, it’s clear that the 25-year-old midfielder will again be one of England’s most important players at a major international tournament.

Indeed, Rice was one of Gareth Southgate’s best performers against Serbia, and heading into matches against Denmark and Slovenia, England will be hopeful that the Arsenal star can again deliver for the Three Lions.

England’s Euro success will be hinge on Rice’s form

A lot has been made of England’s success this summer coming from if the likes of Harry Kane or Jude Bellingham turn up in Germany, yet last night showed that Rice could be the key man for the Three Lions.

The Arsenal midfielder was imperious in the midfield and was the key man to clear up the danger whenever Serbia caught a lucky break, with Rice putting in an immense defensive performance.

And if England are to end their almost 60 years of hurt, Rice will be one of the key players to do so, with the Arsenal man one of Southgate’s most important figures in the starting XI.
