Once again, Dunav Insurance is participating in the region’s premier agribusiness event, the 91st International Agricultural Fair, a gathering of farmers and companies from across the country, the region, and Europe.
With this year’s tagline, “Insurance of Agriculture Just in Case,” Dunav Insurance underscores the critical need to protect agricultural assets against unpredictable weather disasters, such as hail, lightning strikes, storms, floods, and other hazards.
Marko Kesić, Director of the Main Insurance Branch Office of Dunav Insurance in Zrenjanin and Coordinator for the North Region, encourages farmers to explore their comprehensive range of insurance products. This enables farmers to select the best coverage tailored to their needs, preferences, and financial capacities, safeguarding their long-term economic interests.
Kesić emphasizes that financial limitations shouldn’t be a barrier. The Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Agriculture have been providing subsidies for crop, fruit and animal insurance for years. These subsidies cover a minimum of 40 percent and up to a maximum of 70 percent of the paid insurance premium, focusing primarily on districts severely affected by natural disasters.

During the fair, a high-level delegation visited the Dunav Insurance Company stand. Leading the delegation were Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, Provincial Government President Maja Gojković, and EU Ambassador to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret. Accompanied by Serbian officials and members of the diplomatic corps, they were welcomed by Ivana Soković, CEO of Dunav Insurance Company. Soković was joined by Executive Board members Miloš Milanović, Milo Marković, and Zoran Subotić, as well as Miroslav Govedarica, Director of the Non-Life Insurance Sales Directorate, and Marko Kesić, Director of the Main Branch of Dunav Insurance in Zrenjanin and Coordinator for the North Region.
Slavoljub Nikolić, a farm owner from Despotovo, is one such proactive farmer who took timely action. He secured an insurance policy with the company before the commencement of the Agricultural Fair, insuring onions, potatoes, and various crops across a total area of 120 hectares.
“I understand the risks associated with weather disasters,” Nikolić said. “Last year’s hail caused us total damage on 30 hectares of onions. This year, I’ve learned from that experience and insured my crops.” He advises all those seriously involved in agricultural production to do the same.
