Chelsea now hold the power to crucial Aston Villa sale amid latest Fabrizio Romano update

Chelsea now hold the power in one crucial Aston Villa transfer ahead of a busy week to ease PSR concerns.

Aston Villa have until June 30th to generate much-needed profit to aid their PSR concerns.

The Villans are poised to lose Douglas Luiz as part of a swap deal with Juventus, with Philippe Coutinho also hoping to be offloaded to ease PSR.

Added to the list of those likely to depart, Jhon Duran stands as another player nearing the end of his time at Villa Park, with Chelsea interested in the 20-year-old.

The Blues approached the Midlands club about Duran in January and now have control of the situation as a new update has surfaced.

Chelsea are in control of Jhon Duran future amid Aston Villa transfer talk

Duran has insisted that he wants to leave Villa this summer, in what will be a sizeable loss for Unai Emery.

While the Colombian has had limited game time, he showed he is a strong alternative to Ollie Watkins however, his sights are set on being more than just a back-up striker.

Villa are rumoured to ask for £40m from Chelsea to part ways with Duran, with Fabrizio Romano sharing an update on the transfer.

The renowned journalist relayed that the Blues are expected to ‘make a decision soon’ on whether to sign Duran, with talks of a swap deal mentioned.

That being said, Chelsea are also said to be ‘considering other options’, giving them the power over the forwards future, as the Villa man is said to want the move.

Duran’s actions at Villa may be detrimental to the club and his transfer plans

While the player wants Chelsea and Chelsea want the player, it has been reported that the West Londoners have some reservations about Duran.

There has been speculation that the Colombian’s attitude at Villa is questionable, encouraging Chelsea to do background checks into the forward’s time at Villa Park.

Added to that, there could be a stumbling block regarding his wage demands, as like Villa, Chelsea are looking to limit their wage bill as a result of PSR concerns.

It would be a shame for both Villa and Duran for the move to not materialise, as the Midlands club eye a profit for the 20-year-old who clearly doesn’t want to be at the club.
