Kevin Harvick takes hilarious jab at Tyler Reddick for outrageous Hamburglar firesuit

Kevin Harvick may not have been at Iowa Speedway, but he still was able to take to social media for some hilarious quips throughout Sunday evening’s race.

One of them was at the expense of 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick. Over the weekend, the team was playing up their sponsorship with McDonald’s, as Reddick’s No. 45 was rocking a Hamburger scheme, while Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 Toyota was adorned by Grimace. It was a pretty awesome collaboration.

However, Reddick took it a step further, wearing a customized Hamburglar fire-suit, which was almost a carbon-copy of the mascot’s attire. It made for a hilarious photo, which was shared to social media by NASCAR and the sport’s media members.

Well, that photo got around to Harvick. The former NASCAR champion never had to dress up like a ridiculous mascot to please any of his sponsors, and he made sure to let the world know in hilarious fashion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I’m glad I had a beer sponsor… @BuschBeer,” Harvick wrote, quote-posting the photo of Reddick next to the McDonald’s Hamburglar mascot.

Evidently, Harvick was pretty lucky with his major sponsors throughout his racing career. From Goodwrench to Shell, Budweiser and Busch, Harvick was able to simply rock his sponsor’s colors, and represent them in that fashion.

Tyler Reddick was simply being a good sport for McDonald’s, so it’s a good thing Kevin Harvick never had a brand with a hilarious mascot on his car. In the end though, it didn’t help him race any better, as the Hamburglar Toyota came home P22 at Iowa on Sunday.

Ryan Blaney wins inaugural Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway

In other news, Ryan Blaney got the job done at Iowa Speedway for the first time ever on Sunday evening. The defending NASCAR champion captured his first win of the 2024 season in the process.

Ryan Blaney was calm, cool, and collected all day. It wasn’t an easy race for him to win. The tires were a real issue. Drivers had to be careful to not overdrive on their rubber or they would have blowouts, and Blaney handled the pressure well.

The first-ever Cup Series winner at Iowa Speedway. A big win for Blaney and this 12 team after the Gateway letdown that could’ve sunk a less mentally-strong team’s season.

Why did the Cup Series not come to Iowa Speedway sooner? Seriously. This race track put on a fun race with only a partial repave. The tires were soft, but there was no catastrophic failure. It wasn’t even close to a Bristol level of wear from earlier this year.

Alas, Ryan Blaney led 201 laps on his way to victory. Blaney now has a win at Iowa in the Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and Cup Series. He is the only driver to reach that accomplishment since this is the inaugural Cup race at Iowa.
