King's Lynn Town have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Josh Hmami.
Hmami, 24, arrives at the Walks from Lynn's National League North rivals Southport and becomes the club's fifth new arrival of the summer.
Linnets boss Adam Lakeland said: “I’m delighted to get Josh on board. He’s a player who can see a pass, deliver excellent quality, make good runs into the final third and score goals from midfield.
"He has a brilliant attitude and work ethic, as well as plenty of experience at this level. He’s also at an age where I feel his best years are still to come and I look forward to working with him."
Before signing a two-year deal with Southport, Hmami was with Marine and made a great impression in their historic FA Cup run back in the 2020/21 campaign which culminated in a home tie with Tottenham Hotspur.
In the shortened 2020-21 season he made 20 appearances for the Mariners and scored eight times.
His youth career was spent at Bolton Wanderers, Barnsley and Accrington were he made one senior appearance.
Beginning his career as a youngster with Bolton Wanderers’ Academy, he crossed the Pennines where he spent a season with Barnsley Under-16 squad.
Then it was back to Lancashire, where a two-year scholarship with Accrington Stanley saw Hmami go on to become the captain of the Under-18s.
Training regularly with the first team and featuring in several behind-closed-doors friendlies, Hmami’s big break came in 2017.
A belated Christmas present saw the then 17-year-old make his senior debut against Grimsby Town.
The Oldham-based player then had spells with The New Saints, a loan spell at FC United of Manchester and Ramsbottom United where he found the back of the net 11 times in 25 starts.
In all competitions at Southport, Hmami made 103 appearances and scored 11 goals.
Sandgrounders manager Jim Bentley expressed his disappointment at losing the services of the 24-year-old.
Bentley said: ”We are very disappointed to lose Josh as he’s a good player and a good person who was liked by everyone at Southport FC.
"We spoke at the end of the season and offered him a two-year deal and I’ve been in contact over the last few weeks.
"We have tried our best to keep Josh at the club but he’s shown a desire for full-time football which we respect and appreciate.
"I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone at the football club when I wish him all the very best for the future."
Linnets boss Lakeland has already signed central defender Greg Taylor, who was on loan in the second half of the season, Ross Crane, from Leiston, and Tim Wilson, who was with FC Halifax Town and former Macclesfield and Southport defender Freddie Sass.
