The 102-year-old Holocaust survivor Margot Friedländer is to be honoured with a front-page exclusive by Vogue Germany magazine in its upcoming edition themed about love.

The double issue for July and August will present Friedländer in a red coat on the cover and delve into her experience of the Nazi period, her return to Germany and her commitment as a Holocaust survivor, the magazine said on Monday.

The editorial team met with Friedländer four times for the multi-page profile.

"The most positive person I know is on our cover in this issue," Vogue Germany's editorial head Kerstin Weng said about Friedländer in a press release.

"She is known to many as a Holocaust survivor, but she not only survived the Nazis, but also betrayal and loss. She would have every reason to be bitter, but she remains open-minded and refuses to take sides."

Friedländer is one of the few living witnesses to the persecution and murder of Jews during the Nazi era. She has been honoured several times for her efforts to ensure the horrors of that period are not forgotten. The double issue will be available from June 22.
