Former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke said he was motivated to back pro-Palestinian protesters at a Detroit rally Friday in an effort to "save us from Jewish supremacism."
Duke, a 73-year-old white supremacist and one-time leader of the Klan, traveled from Louisiana to attend the alt-right's America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC), hosted by white nationalist Nicholas Fuentes.
After the event's abrupt cancellation, Duke made an appearance at the anti-Israel rally, according to the New York Post.
Duke was spotted in the crowd by undercover journalist Cam Higby, who shared his brief encounter with him on X over the weekend.
The ex-Louisiana state representative said he was at the rally to support "all the people who are working to save our country and save us from Jewish supremacism."
"We're being genocided just like the Palestinians," he claimed, adding that he considers Fuentes "a comrade in the fight for our people."
"If David Duke is on your side, you know you are on the wrong side," the National Jewish Assembly (NJA) commented on the post, according to Israel National News.
Another joked, "You know you're on the right side of history when the former grand wizard of the KKK agrees with you."
