Oil tanks on fire in Rostov region due to drone attack

In the Rostov region (Russian Federation), a drone attack occurred on the night of June 18, resulting in a fire at an oil facility, citing the Rostov region Governor Vasily Golubev.

According to the Russian official, this fiery incident took place in Azov, where "tanks with petroleum products caught fire as a result of the UAV attack."

The Rostov governor also mentioned that preliminary reports indicate no casualties from the incident, and firefighters are attempting to extinguish the open flames.

"The Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) unit has organized the extinguishing of the open fire. The head of the regional department for civil defense and emergencies went to the site," the post reads.

Meanwhile, videos and photos of the large fire in the city of Azov following the drone attack have already appeared online. Additionally, according to Russian media and Telegram channels, residents heard five explosions before the fuel tank caught fire.

By morning, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire area at the oil depot in the Azov district of Rostov region covered 5,000 cubic meters. The ministry also mentioned that a fire train was dispatched to the scene.

"Seventy-three specialists and 21 pieces of equipment are involved in the firefighting. There are no casualties," the agency said.

Explosions in Rostov region due to drone attacks

On the night of June 15, explosions were heard in Russia's Rostov region. At that time, the local governor claimed a drone attack and the operation of air defense systems.

Additionally, on the night of June 14, explosions were also heard in the Rostov region. Russians complained about power outages in the city of Morozovsk and other localities.

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, reported that Ukraine attacked an airfield in Morozovsk on the night of June 14. At least 70 drones were used to strike the airbase, located 240 km from the frontline.

Furthermore, on the night of June 17, Russian Telegram channels reported powerful explosions in the Rostov, Lipetsk, and Voronezh regions. In Rostov, a substation was allegedly damaged by a drone attack, resulting in a power outage in the city.
