Kylian Mbappe won't require surgery after breaking his nose at Euro 2024, France have confirmed.
The striker played a hand in France's winner against Austria with own goal from Maximilian Wober settling the match.
But disaster stuck with just a few minutes remaining of the match when Mbappe headed the shoulder of Austria's Kevin Danso.
The striker writhed around on the floor in clear agony with his face covered in blood.
Medical staff helped Mbappe down the tunnel and he was eventually taken to the hospital after the game.
Didier Deschamps suggested that surgery would potentially be needed, raising doubts over Mbappe's involvement for the remainder of the tournament.
"He's not doing well," Mbappe said.
"He's with the medical staff and I've got a lot of media questions to come here so I can't tell you anything more.
"But his nose got badly hit for sure."
"We need to check that out but it seems quite complicated, which is really unfortunate for us tonight."
However, the French Football Federation have confirmed the new Real Madrid signing won't need to undergo an operation.
“Kylian Mbappe returns to the base camp of the France team," the statement began.
"Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during the second half of the Austria - France match, this Monday in Düsseldorf.
"The captain of the French team was first taken care of by the medical staff and the doctor Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed a broken nose.
"Diagnosis confirmed during radiological examinations at the Düsseldorf hospital.

"He will undergo treatment in the coming days, without undergoing surgery immediately.
"A mask will be made in order to allow number 10 to the French team to consider resuming competition after a period dedicated to treatment."
