Nottingham Forest fans waited with bated breath this morning as the Premier League announced the fixtures for the 2024/25 campaign.
The Reds managed to survive relegation on the final day of the season last time out and will hope for a stronger showing this time out.
Gone are Sheffield United, Luton Town and Burnley, with Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leicester City all in the top-flight.
Ultimately, the fixture list usually throws up some intrigue and this season has proved very similar.
Forest fans can now start scribbling in their diaries, stocking up on fruit pastilles for the long journeys and make sure those satellite navigation systems are up to date.
Euro 2024 might be taking centre stage at the moment but now, the domestic stuff feels closer with the fixtures released this morning.
After the announcement, Forest fans have all been buzzing over the same thing that has been thrown up by the latest list.

Nottingham Forest fans excited after Premier League fixture release
Well, a rarity has occurred and it’s delighted Forest fans.
Not since 2019 have Forest played at home in the first match of the campaign but this season that will change.
Bournemouth will come to the City Ground for the curtain-raiser and it’s nice to see Forest at home on the opening day.
Many fans have taken to X after the announcement made this morning to express their delight.
Another fan used just two words to sum up his words, saying: “About time,” whilst someone else simply replied with: “Good”.
Another fan was also satisfied with the team being at home on the first day – and the last day when Forest will play Chelsea.
Forest had another satisfied customer said: “Love it, first game at home, last game at home, but a better team on Boxing Day would have made for three great days out instead of 2.”
Another Forest devotee was stunned at the fact that Forest were at home first up and took to X too, saying: “Amazed by the home fixtures to start and end the season.”
Finally, another fan also expressed his delight at the release, saying: “Opening, ending and Boxing Day all at home? Wow, that curse got shattered this year.”
Nottingham Forest can enjoy positive Premier League start during 2024/25
In previous years, Forest have perhaps had the worst-case scenario when it comes to the fixture release.
This time around, however, it’s fair to say that the fixture computer has been extremely kind to the Reds.
Forest only face Liverpool from the division’s elite in the opening month of the campaign and have some winnable games.
Playing Bournemouth and Wolves at home in the first three games gives Forest two huge chances to get home wins on the board.
With newly-promoted Southampton wedged between, that also provides an opportunity for some points.
As cliched as it may be, there are no easy games in the Premier League – and Forest will have to beware of complacency.
However, these fixtures do give Forest a chance of an exciting start and hopefully, Nuno Espirito Santo can be ready for the challenge.
