'I can see': Phil Foden makes prediction about Chelsea's Cole Palmer at Euro 2024

Phil Foden has just made an interesting prediction about Chelsea and England star Cole Palmer.

Manchester City ace Phil Foden, along with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, are currently in Germany for the Euro 2024 tournament.

England kickstarted their competition with a 1-0 victory over Serbia on Sunday night, with Foden completing 90 minutes for his country. The 24-year-old goes into the summer fresh off of being crowned the Premier League Player of the Season, but the attacking playmaker struggled out on the left wing at the weekend.

As for Palmer, he still waiting for his first minutes of the tournament after being an unused substitute.

Next, Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions play on Thursday evening against Denmark in their second group stage fixture.

Phil Foden prediction

Foden has predicted that England teammate Palmer can still have a big impact at the Euros this summer.

Foden said via England’s official X account: “Me and Cole have been hanging out quite a lot on camp. We’ve been going to the sauna and steam [room], playing a bit of paddle. Someone I know really well from my club. He’s a close friend.

“I’ve been training with them for many years at City. I know his talent and how good he is. He can only get better.

“He’s someone that I can see can have a big effect on the tournament when he gets his opportunity so looking forward to it.”

When you consider Foden and Palmer are both competing for similar positions in England’s XI, it’s a touch of class from the former to big up his teammate in the camp. In fairness, the duo know each other from years at Manchester City.

There’s still plenty of time for Cole Palmer at Euro 2024

It’s not all doom and gloom just because Palmer was overlooked in the opening England match.

If he gets minutes on the pitch, we’re tipping the 22-year-old attacker to make his mark on the international stage.

He scored 25 goals for Chelsea last season during his debut year in West London, so is an incredible option for Southgate to use off the bench.

Blues fans major have to be a little bit more patient waiting for their talisman to play.
