‘As I understand’: Alan Myers gives Everton takeover update with ‘good news’ expected soon

Everton finally seem poised to enter into another exclusivity deal with a new takeover suitor, thus potentially bringing about an end to a saga that has nearly spanned an entire year.

Starting with 777 Partners and poised to end with Dan Friedkin in charge, the Toffees have traded one American businessman for another, and in doing so seemingly gained far more reliability.

The true extent of that remains to be seen, but the early signs look good.

And, seeking to win over Evertonians, there is arguably nothing better you can do than earn a glowing endorsement from Alan Myers.

Alan Myers provides Dan Friedkin update

Taking to X, the Sky Sports reporter, renowned for his reliable and impassioned takes on the club he supports, has sought to offer a fresh update on this proposed takeover.

Seeking to reply to fans who are still relatively in the dark on this particular subject, given how Farhad Moshiri has so often worked, his brief but insightful messages offer a window into what might actually be going on behind the scenes.

And when one supporter asked if the Friedkin deal was close, he simply offered a glimmer of hope alongside an explanation: ‘No, a way to go before that’s confirmed but I think positive things happening’.

However, then asked what impact the American might have, his answer was one of far more positivity, noting: ‘If, it’s as I understand it, if will be good news but a way to go yet’.

Everton would benefit from the stability of a new owner

It is no secret that Moshiri wants to leave Everton, but neither is it that the bulk of Evertonians want him gone too.

So, it marks a move set to benefit all parties, should Friedkin make his takeover of the club quick and painless.

With keen experience attained whilst overseeing AS Roma, having acquired the Italian outfit in 2020, the hope is that he can take this time already in football and use it to turn the Toffees into a quick success.

It will not be an overnight process, but purely by remaining engaged in the operations whilst also letting the football people do their jobs, the foundation is in place for long-term progression.

Should he provide a steady stream of cash, but inject it intelligently, the stability he will offer could be all this club needs to shine as they stride into their new stadium in 2025.
