'He is not happy': £32m Chelsea player is now considering leaving the club - journalist

One Chelsea star looks to have taken Mauricio Pochettino’s exit really badly.

Mauricio Pochettino left Chelsea last month by mutual consent.

Since then, Enzo Maresca has joined the club to replace the Argentine in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

His first game in charge will be against his former side Manchester City, whom Chelsea take on on August 18.

However, it looks like he could lose an important member of his squad before then.

Chelsea star not happy with Mauricio Pochettino exit

Pochettino was a very popular figure in the Chelsea dressing room.

It was claimed that the Chelsea players were saddened to hear that the 52-year-old had departed the club.

Journalist Alex Crook has now claimed that Nicolas Jackson could consider his future in west London as a result of Pochettino’s exit.

He told talkSPORT: “I’m told the decision to part company with Mauricio Pochettino didn’t go down well with all Chelsea players. Nicolas Jackson in particular, who you can’t argue improved under Poch’s coaching last season.

“He is not happy about the managerial change and possibly is looking for a move away. There is some interest from Atletico Madrid.”

Why Chelsea should not sell Nicolas Jackson this summer

Jackson finished last season as the only recognised centre-forward in Chelsea’s squad.

The Senegal international scored 17 goals in 44 appearances for the Blues, which is a good return considering it was his first campaign in England.

Jackson is still only 22 so has time to improve as well.

Chelsea are already in the market for a striker as they continue to be heavily linked with Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

The last thing they need is another search for another No.9.

If Jackson, who cost Chelsea £32m after joining from Villarreal last summer, really is thinking about leaving west London, then Maresca needs to try and convince him to stay. Losing Jackson now would be so counterproductive for the club, who are not currently blessed with options up front.
