Sources: Chelsea star and representatives 'frustrated' at current situation, two clubs want to sign him

Conor Gallagher has made it clear to Chelsea that he won’t be forced out of the club this summer, HITC understands.

Gallagher’s contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire next year and his situation remains one of the most talked about transfer scenarios heading into the summer window.

The 24-year-old is currently on international duty with England at the European Championships, but despite being in Germany – his club future is being discussed.

Conor Gallagher wants to stay with Chelsea

HITC can reveal that Gallagher and his representatives have made it clear to Chelsea in recent weeks that he has no intention of leaving the club unless he decides that is the right thing for his career, and at present he does not.

Gallagher’s contract is expiring in 2025 and Chelsea have made it clear to all their squad, under the new regime of Clearlake, that they do not want any players running down their contracts and leaving for free.

However, HITC can confirm that Chelsea are still yet to engage in contract talks with Gallagher – which is a clear frustration to the player and his representatives.

Gallagher would like to commit his future to Chelsea, but until an offer is made he can’t commit to as he would like.

Gallagher has long been linked with a move away from the club and Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are both confirmed admirers. Tottenham tried to sign Gallagher last summer and their interest remains, whilst Villa have spoken to Chelsea this summer about the prospect of a deal.

But with Gallagher showing no signs of wanting to leave Stamford Bridge, the chances of a deal this month – in order to bolster Profit and Sustainability worries – or anytime this summer looks increasingly unlikely.

Gallagher concentrating on England duty

Gallagher himself is constantly quizzed about his future but whilst on England duty he insists he only thinking about the Three Lions at this stage.

“I’m a Chelsea player right now and I’m just thinking about England and the tournament,” said Gallagher.

“It’s not difficult. I’m away with England and I couldn’t be happier with the position I’m in.

“I’ve just been focusing on England. This is the most important thing right now for me and the country.

“I’m hoping I can help the team more on the pitch in this tournament.”
