Jeremy Doku claims £300k-a-week Man City teammate has a better first touch than Cristiano Ronaldo

Jeremy Doku has claimed that he thinks one of his Manchester City teammates has a better first touch than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The winger completed his debut season at City after arriving at the Etihad Stadium back in the previous summer transfer window in a deal worth £55m.

Across his first campaign in Pep Guardiola’s side, the 22-year-old scored six goals and delivered 10 assists in 43 games across all competitions.

Now though, Doku is part of the Belgium squad battling to win the 2024 European Championship.

Ahead of last night’s game which saw Belgium lose to Slovakia, the City attacker shared his thoughts on some of the current stars in this tournament, with one of his club teammates getting a special mention.

Jeremy Doku says Bernardo Silva has a better first touch than Cristiano Ronaldo

In a recent video shared on the EURO 2024 TikTok channel, Doku was asked to stay quiet until he heard the name of the player he believes has the best first touch in the current tournament in Germany.

After remaining silent when Bernardo Silva’s name came up, the Belgian went back on his decision and picked his City teammate as having the best first touch in the Euros, even though his own name and Ronaldo came up.

Doku will know all about Silva’s ability on the ball

The two City stars featured in 30 games together last season, racking up two joint goal participations in the process.

This highlights just how well Doku knows about Silva, who Charlie Nicholas likened to Andres Iniesta last month, and what he’s capable of doing on the ball.

Now that the winger has suggested that his £300k-a-week City teammate, has a better first touch than his fellow countryman Ronaldo, this should further highlight how technically gifted the 29-year-old is and delight a lot of City supporters in the process.
