Graham Potter was on Manchester United’s shortlist

It was understood that Potter, who was in the mix to replace Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United, was waiting for the right offer as he assessed his options which also including possible succeeding Gareth Southgate for England but now Leicester believe he is ready to return to club management with them.

The ‘incredible’ former Brighton and Hove Albion boss has been out of work since April 2023 and has rejected a number of approaches.

European giants Ajax were reportedly one of the clubs chasing his signature but he wasn’t keen on the project.

Graham Potter the ideal man to replace Enzo Maresca

Potter, who Pep Guardiola really rates, would be the ideal manager to replace Maresca as the pair have a similar idea on how football should be played.

As such, the transition to the Englishman’s style should be pretty seamless, giving The Foxes a good chance at Premier League survival.

Further, Potter has been heavily praised for his ability to set the right culture – a trait which will bode well for the division’s newboys.

The excitement is beginning to gather around King Power Stadium once more after an uncertain last few weeks.
