This week 20 of the nation’s top high school football quarterback recruits will head to Los Angeles to compete in the prestigious Elite 11 Finals.

Five-stars, blue-chippers and signal-callers committed to some of the most prominent programs will take the field.

Throwing among the headliners will be Ewa Beach (Hawaii) James Campbell left-hander Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele who will have a chance to leave the event a household recruiting name. He shined at the Elite 11 Regional in Vegas earning his golden ticket to compete on the big stage.

“It meant the world,” Sagapolutele said of the invite. “Being able to have a chance to compete at such a high level is such a great opportunity! But just any chance to put myself and my families name on the map is a great opportunity!”

Sagapolutele is widely known around football circles in Hawaii. He threw for over 3,700 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior. The southpaw is ready to see how he stacks up against some of these more touted players.

“Just being able to compete with guys on that high of a caliber and being able to be taught and coached by people who have taught the greats before me!” he said of what he’s looking forward to.

As the process stands now, Sagapolutele is high on four schools in “Oregon State, Utah State, Boise State and California.” The Bears get the last official visit this coming weekend. We’ll see what a big performance could do for other programs keeping tabs.

Coming into the Elite 11 Finals, the On3 Industry tabs Sagapolutele as the nation’s No. 44 quarterback.
