24-yo's unreal EURO 2024 display will have Arsenal licking their lips, much to West Ham's dismay

The West Ham United and Arsenal fans would have been extremely excited after watching one player’s EURO 2024 performance yesterday.

West Ham and Arsenal are believed to be chasing the same player this summer, and he’s starring for his country out in Germany at EURO 2024.

Julen Lopetegui and Mikel Arteta both need to strengthen their ranks at the London Stadium and the Emirates respectively this summer.

Lopetegui especially needs to bolster his squad, after David Moyes left behind such an unbalanced and ageing group of players.

The Hammers boss is said to be looking to make at least six new signings this summer, but he probably needs to make eight as a bare minimum.

One area where the West Ham manager needs to improve is his left-back department, with more cover and competition required for Emerson Palmieri.

The 29-year-old Italian is being linked with a move back to his homeland as well, so signing a new left-sided defender will be crucial for Lopetegui this summer.

There is one left-back out there in particular who the Hammers have been strongly linked with, and he’d be a sensational addition for us.

However, it seems like one of our key targets impressing out at the Euros will only serve to pique the interest of Arsenal…

The Hammers and the Gunners are both trying to sign someone who’s playing a key role for his country out in Germany this summer.

Ferdi Kadioglu is a player who’s reportedly on the radars of both the Hammers and the Gunners this summer.

Here’s the problem though – Arsenal have far greater financial muscle than we do AND, they have Champions League football on offer at the Emirates.

I have no doubts which club the 24-year-old Turkey international will pick if he has a choice of joining the two London sides.

And missing out on him would be a real shame for West Ham. He proved his quality at the very highest level last night, with a superb performance for Turkey during their 3-1 win over Georgia.

He was given a 7.2 rating by Who Scored – the joint sixth highest out of all 22 players on the pitch.

Kadioglu has 92 touches – the second most out of anyone on his team, and made two tackles and three interceptions.

The Turkish ace made 70 passes and recorded an unbelievably good 94.3% completion rate. Out of those 70 passes, four of them were so-called ‘key passes’.

It really was a stunning all-round performance from someone who looks ready to make the jump up to the Premier League.

Kadioglu is incredibly comfortable on the ball, and has a skillset more akin to that of a number 10 than a left-back!

It’s easy to see why the Gunners might want to sign him, with his ability to invert into a central midfield position from left-back during games.

If Arsenal win the race for the Fenerbahce star, it will undoubtedly be a big blow for West Ham. And all his performance would have done last night is speed up the Gunners’ move to sign him in my opinion.
