Arsenal star Declan Rice reveals hidden talent during England training at Euro 2024

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has proven himself to have an unexpected talent whilst training with England at Euro 2024.

Declan Rice was handed an unusual task during a recent England training session.

The Arsenal star has made an impressive start to the summer international tournament. The press heaped praise on Rice for his performance against Serbia in the Three Lions’ first game of the competition.

He will almost certainly play a key role for Gareth Southgate’s side again when they take on Denmark on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta will be keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old at the tournament. Above all, the Spanish coach will be hoping that the former West Ham United man can perform well and avoid injury.

However, Arteta still has a decision to make over Rice’s role at Arsenal next season. The player flourished in a more advanced role for the Gunners, but has a reputation as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and will be expected to focus on shielding the back four for his country.

Until Arteta has made a call on what his main role will be for the Gunners, then it will be difficult for the club to recruit appropriately in that part of the pitch.

In the meantime, though, Rice’s full focus will on the Euros. It hasn’t been all work for the Arsenal star though, who took the time to try something new in training this week.

Arsenal star Declan Rice tests photography skills at Euro 2024

As documented by the official England X account, Rice “borrowed” the official photographer’s camera during training this week, and the results of his efforts from behind the lens were surprisingly impressive.

Rice has shown that he has a good eye for a snap, as he captured arresting images of the likes of Jude Bellingham, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney, and Kobbie Mainoo, amongst others.

Rice replicates Martin Odegaard’s photography efforts at Arsenal

Last season, after the Gunners beat Liverpool, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was criticised by Jamie Carragher for using the club photographer’s camera during the post-match celebrations on the pitch.

There does seem to be something of a trend emerging of talismanic Arsenal midfielders enjoying life on the other side of the camera for once, but it is hard to imagine the Liverpool icon taking issue with Rice’s antics on this occasion.
