Srinagar:
A fire damaged the shrine of Hazrat Baba Naseeb Din Ghazi (RA) in Sangam, Eidgah, Srinagar. The blaze, which occurred overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, caused partial damage to the shrine and affected two nearby Chinar trees.
This incident marks the second fire at the shrine recently, with locals having extinguished a previous fire just days ago, media reports said. Firefighters arrived at the scene around 2:00 AM to contain the flames.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, registering FIR No. 24/24 under relevant sections of law at PS Sangam. A thorough and speedy investigation is underway to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid spreading rumors or false information
Legal action will be taken against those found involved in provocative acts or instigation.
