Kobbie Mainoo agrees with one thing ‘everyone says’ about Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

England ace Kobbie Mainoo has now shared what he really thinks of Arsenal star Bukayo Saka whilst the duo are at Euro 2024 together.

Kobbie Mainoo has now opened up about his first impressions of Bukayo Saka.

The Arsenal star is an established figure in the England setup, with 34 caps to his name. Meanwhile, the Manchester United teenager has played just four times for his country at senior level and so is still getting to know many of his international teammates.

Saka is a popular figure within the Three Lions’ setup, and is clearly valued by Gareth Southgate. Having passed a late fitness test, Saka came straight into the England starting XI for their first game of Euro 2024 against Serbia.

Saka impressed Arsenal fans with his performance in that match, and made a telling contribution as he set up Jude Bellingham to clinch what proved to be winning goal. The 22-year-old will almost certainly be in the starting line up again when England take on Denmark on Thursday.

Kobbie Mainoo hails Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

Ahead of England’s next match, it has come to light just how influential a figure Saka now is within the dressing room.

Mainoo has certainly felt welcomed into the international fold by the Hale End academy graduate. As quoted by the Daily Mail, the 19-year-old midfielder said: “He’s had a lot of experience, he was playing for England since he was younger than my age even, so to have him around, he’s a great guy, he’s as nice as everyone says, a joy to be around.”

After the win over Serbia, Saka sent a message to the England squad, urging them to kick on and raise their level in upcoming matches. This shows that he now feels comfortable taking responsibility and showing his leadership qualities within the group.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice excels for England

The national media were impressed by Declan Rice’s showing against Serbia too. The 25-year-old Arsenal man performed his defensive duties admirably, as Southgate’s side came under increasing pressure in the second half.

This week in training, Rice revealed an unexpected talent as he photographed his teammates hard at work behind the scenes. The former West Ham United man was able to capture a number of arresting images of the England stars, including Saka.

Mikel Arteta will be keeping tabs on the England duo, hoping that they continue to impress and can avoid injury.
