The best quotes from Michigan’s third official visit weekend

JaDon Blair/X

Michigan’s most recent official visit weekend saw seven marquee targets, along with a commit elsewhere on an unofficial visit, venture on campus. It’s the third slate of what will end up being four consecutive weekends in which the Wolverines host prospects prior to the summer dead period with the aim of increasing numbers in the 2025 recruiting class.

The first verbal commit for U-M in the 2026 recruiting class also made his first-ever appearance in Ann Arbor last weekend.

The Wolverine examines the most signifiant quotes from the past few days.

Five-star OT Andrew Babalola, Overland Park (Kans.) Blue Valley Northwest, 2025

Industry Ranking: No. 20 Overall, No. 4 Offensive Tackle, No. 1 in Kansas
RPM: Stanford (74.8%), Oklahoma (5.3%), Kansas State (3.6%), Michigan (3.0%)
U-M Visits Before Weekend: 3/22/24

What Andrew Babalola Said: “It’s an elite academic school. Just getting to talk to people on the program as well. For example, I talked to some professors from the Ross School of Business. That was really cool. Just about the weight and the significance that a Michigan degree carries and just the opportunities for students. That was really cool.”

Top 100 CB Shamari Earls, Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale, 2025

Industry Ranking: No. 103 Overall, No. 12 Cornerback, No. 4 in Virginia
RPM: South Carolina Verbal Commit
U-M Visits Before Weekend: N/A

What Shamari Earls Said: “I think I would fit in perfect. They blitz the corners a lot and play man. Playing in the Big Ten, you have to stop the run. They compared me to Will Johnson a lot. They come down and make tackles. It was amazing to see. I was imagining myself playing in the defense. We talked about the depth chart. (LaMar Morgan) said the plan is to play me. If I start depends on how I get used to the defense. With me early enrolling, I can get a head start. Coach Wink (Don Martindale) agrees. They see me playing three years at boundary and being gone to the NFL.”

Top 100 Safety JaDon Blair, Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor, 2025

Industry Ranking: No. 115 Overall, No. 15 Safety, No. 5 in North Carolina
RPM: Notre Dame (72.2%) Penn State (7.7%), Virginia Tech (5.0%), Michigan (2.0%)
U-M Visits Before Weekend: 3/21/24

What JaDon Blair Said: “It was a refresher of why me and my family are so high on Michigan. We went into more detail on the nutrition and weightlifting program and why their athletes are so superior. We got to see some numbers and some data of the players, and it showed why they won that national championship. Getting to talk to Coach Morgan and Coach Wink, we had some great conversations. Overall, the visit went great.”

Three-star RB Jasper Parker, Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw, 2025

Industry Ranking: No. 458 Overall, No. 37 Running Back, No. 15 in Louisiana
RPM: Michigan Verbal Commit
U-M Visits Before Weekend: 4/18/24

What Jasper Parker Said: “I love the way they are going. The only way they are going is up. They are national championship contenders every year, and you have the pairing of Coach Tony Alford, who has developed some of the best running back rooms I’ve seen in my lifetime. It just felt like a decision that I couldn’t pass up.”

Top 100 QB Brady Hart, Cocoa (Fla.) High, 2026

Industry Ranking: No. 92 Overall, No. 9 Quarterback, No. 15 in Florida
RPM: Michigan Verbal Commit
U-M Visits Before Weekend: N/A

What Brady Hart Said: “It exceeded my expectations. It’s an amazing place. It was spectacular. I enjoyed spending time with Coach (Kirk) Campbell and Coach (Sherrone) Moore. The biggest thing was listening to their philosophy on how things are going to move forward without Coach (Jim) Harbaugh there. I don’t think the program is going to skip a beat. Michigan has been winning. They won a national championship last year. That’s what Michigan does. They’ve won forever, and they are going to keep winning.”

Jay Blair, Father of Top 100 Safety JaDon Blair

What Jay Said: “It’s Michigan. You know it’s going to be what the epitome of college is. From the Ross School of Business to the professors that took time out of their day to spend time with (JaDon), that was special. You get into the football piece, and I see why Michigan won the national championship last year. I do. I see it. It’s in the details. They are very detail disciplined. It’s not detail oriented. That’s when you know what details are and pay attention to them. Michigan football is detail disciplined.”
