A 29-year-old drug driver who was already serving a ban has had her sentence extended.
Chloe Roberts appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court last Thursday where she was sentenced for the offence.
She previously pleaded guilty to driving above the specified drug limit.
The offence took place on October 19, 2023, on Whitecross Road in Swaffham.
A drug test revealed that Roberts had 134mcg of benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown, in her system. The legal limit to drive is 50mcg.
The court heard from prosecutor Amir Khan, who said that Roberts had also committed a drug drive offence in 2016 and her driving resulted in a collision.
In mitigation, George Sorrell said that Roberts is pregnant and her “ambition is to change her lifestyle”.
“She is doing some work to improve her situation and plans to move away from the Dereham area where there are bad influences,” Mr Sorrell said.
For the offence, Roberts was given an 18-month community order - where she will complete 20 rehabilitation activity days, and fined £120.
She was also handed a £114 victim surcharge and court costs of £45.
An extra 12 months were added to Roberts’ driving disqualification, meaning she is now banned from getting behind the wheel for 42 months.
