Arsenal are reportedly scouting one of the early breakout stars of Euro 2024 who has already been compared to Lionel Messi.

This summer’s competition has been a lively one after the first matchday, with shock results from Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia setting the tempo for what could be a thrilling tournament this summer in Germany.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners are one of the most represented teams at the Euros with 11 players, where the likes of Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka have already impressed in their respective bids to end the season with silverware.

Arsenal keeping tabs on Turkey wonderkid Arda Guler

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal have been to watch Turkey wonderkid Arda Guler in person at the Euros, who this week enjoyed a sensational performance against Georgia in one of the matches of the tournament.

Likened to Messi since his Fenerbahce days and hailed as ‘brilliant’ by pundit Stephen Warnock in Turkey’s win against Georgia, Guler is on course to becoming one of the names of the Euros if he can maintain his level of performance.

With other top teams also scouting Guler, though, the race to sign the 19-year-old winger could be a difficult one for Arsenal, who also face the potential task of trying to convince Real Madrid to sell the teenager.

Indeed, Guler’s performance for Turkey against Georgia was something special, yet this summer might be too soon for Arsenal to move for the forward, especially with the wonderkid only just moving to Madrid.

Arsenal could have to wait some years before getting a crack at Guler

Guler is regarded by many as one of the most exciting prospects in world football, with the former Fenerbahce star ending the season on a high with Madrid and now proving his quality on the international stage with Turkey.

And for interested clubs like Arsenal, it could be some years before there is a realistic chance in the market to sign Guler, who could become a regular for Madrid in the new campaign under Carlo Ancelotti.

Whilst Arsenal keeping tabs on Guler is exciting, the odds of the Gunners actually signing the Turkish sensation remain low, with this Euros potentially what gives the forward the extra boost needed to become a star for Los Blancos.
