Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney assured Wrexham fans when they took over they support the club, the fans, and the whole community.
Both owners pledged that they would keep up the tradition of Wrexham having the community at the heart and soul of the club.
The Hollywood owners have tried to reflect that in the Welcome to Wrexham docuseries where they have shown the lives of local fans and businesses around the local community that make up the Wrexham family.
Wrexham’s story on the pitch has been one of success and progression with back-to-back promotions with stars like Paul Mullin, Elliot Lee, Ollie Palmer, James Mclean, and Steven Fletcher joining the Red Dragons.
The Hollywood owners have always tried to keep the community at the heart of every decision they make and try to update the fans as regularly as they can.
Both Rob and Ryan visit North Wales on numerous occasions throughout the season posing for photos, signing autographs, and spending time with the Wrexham faithful. They want to be owners who the fans can interact with, relate to, and most importantly be trustworthy ownership.
Wrexham fans know too well about the dangers of the club being in the wrong hands.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney respond to Community Award
On celebrating Community Foundation Wales’s 25th anniversary the charity has included the Hollywood owners in their awards for those with extraordinary contributions to the community.
Since arriving in North Wales, Rob and Ryan have regularly helped out and supported community projects.
Speaking to Community Foundation Wales both owners were very grateful for the award.
Ryan Reynolds said ” “I want to thank Community Foundation Wales for this honor. Ultimately, giving me and Rob an award like this is incredibly flattering and wonderful but it certainly pales in comparison to the work that Community Foundation Wales does for so many of Wales’s most vulnerable people.”
Rob McElhenney commented ” “Receiving this Philanthropy Award is a huge honor, but it truly pales in comparison to all the work that Community Foundation Wales is doing and we’re just happy to be a part of this.”
As Wrexham continues its journey with the Hollywood owners and the club continues to grow, the plan is for the community to benefit and grow alongside the club.
There is no guarantee that success will always be delivered under the current ownership but there is a constant effort by Reynolds and McElhenney to be stewards of the club by putting the fans and the community at the core of the club.
