Kansas State continues its heater on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class. Phoenix, Arizona safety Dominic Mitchell has committed to K-State.

The announcement from Mitchell comes just after his official visit to Kansas State. Mitchell was joined in Manhattan by offensive lineman Brock Heath, safety Serious Stinyard, corners JoJo Scott and Sammy Etienne, linebackers Maguire Richman and Julius Simms, and wide receivers Isaiah Mizell and Gio Richardson. Both Stinyard and Etienne have committed to West Virginia and Simms has since committed to TCU. However, Scott decided to commit to the Wildcats while still in Manhattan and Richman committed to Kansas State just a few hours earlier.

Like Martel Jackson and Dalton Knapp, the Phoenix safety’s recruitment was much more of a sprint than a slow burn. Mitchell was offered at the first camp of the summer for Kansas State. Shortly after receiving the offer, the rising senior made it a priority to schedule an official visit. While in Manhattan, Mitchell decided to pull the trigger and commit to the Wildcats.

It is a nice recruiting win for Kansas State defensive coordinator and safeties coach Joe Klanderman. He went out to Brophy College Preparatory in the spring to see the safety work out. From there, he invited Mitchell to a camp and after seeing him perform at the camp, Klanderman offered the safety. K-State took the lead right away for Mitchell after offering and never let the lead go. The relationship with Klanderman and learning from him helped put Kansas State over the top of the other schools. Mitchell held offers from Air Force, Army, Montana State, Navy, Princeton and UCONN in addition to the offer from the Wildcats.

In total, the rising senior is commitment No. 10 for Kansas State in the 2025 class. He joins Dillon Duff, Weston Polk, Will Kemna, Adonis Moise, Jackson, Knapp, Scott and Richman. The safety is the first player from Arizona in this class and the first commitment at his position. He has not yet been ranked by On3.
