NFL expert shares insight into who the Chiefs would rather play, Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen

The Kansas City Chiefs have been a steamrolling juggernaut in the playoffs, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen can tell you that firsthand, but who would the franchise prefer to face in the playoffs?

After a disappointing regular season, Patrick Mahomes and his offense found their groove at the perfect moment in the do-or-die playoffs.

They entered the postseason in the Wildcard round, something they had never experienced under the tandem of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.

The red machine brushed aside the Miami Dolphins, restricting them to just one touchdown, and refusing to give Tyreek Hill a warm homecoming.

Josh Allen fails to get the better of Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs, again

Then Josh Allen was up next in the Divisional Round, and with a win already under his belt against the Chiefs in Week 15, they had all the motivation to leave victorious, again.

Nonetheless, Mahomes and the Chiefs only saw red and emerged as the victors in a knife-edge scoreline of 27-24.

Despite only throwing for one touchdown and 186 yards, Allen excelled in running the ball: scoring 2 touchdowns and 72 yards off 12 carries.

Chiefs then stumbled across the number one-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship, disposing of their threat 17-10 in another professional display.

The Bills and Ravens have been victims of the Chiefs in previous seasons and will be desperate to have their revenge.

NFL Scout suggests the Chiefs would prefer to play Lamar Jackson over Josh Allen

The Kansas City Chiefs will be confident that they can dispose of any of their opponents, but one former NFL scout suggests they would rather play Lamar Jackson than Josh Allen in the postseason.

“And you know what the Chiefs will tell you, we would rather play Lamar Jackson than Josh Allen – I don’t blame them,” John Middlekauff explained on his podcast.

“I think if you put Josh Allen on this Ravens team, Chiefs don’t win that game (AFC Championship).”

Middlekauff firmly believes that Allen is the superior threat to the Kansas City Chiefs compared to Lamar Jackson.

Josh Allen has a better individual playoff record compared to Jackson

In his playoff career, Allen has scored 21 touchdowns alongside four interceptions, in comparison, Jackson has registered an equal six touchdowns and six interceptions.

However, Jackson finished as the 2023 MVP but faltered in the playoffs in the face of the Chiefs’ dominant defense.

The Ravens and Chiefs are set to slug it out on the opening day of a highly anticipated 2024 season, with the former distastefully watching on as they unveil their Super Bowl banner.
