Kick accused of offering lower contract over cancer diagnosis, Kyedae speaks out

The streaming community has been left in shock after Kick was exposed allegedly offering streamer Kyedae less money for a deal since she is battling cancer. Now, the Valorant streamer has spoken out about the rumor.

Popular streamer Kyedae has been publicly fighting cancer since she was diagnosed in the early part of 2023. With support from her family and Valorant pro boyfriend Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, she has gone through chemotherapy and continued updating fans on her health.

On June 17, a former Kick employee uploaded a long expose on YouTube that has called out the controversial streaming platform and its employees. While it’s not news that Kick has become known as the home for degenerate streamers due to its lax regulations on gambling, nudity, and other behavior, hearing how the streamers are treated shocked a lot of the community that viewed Kick as a savior for content creators looking to leave Twitch.

One of the topics she brought up was Kick staff offering a “very beloved” streamer, later identified as Kyedae, less money than the usual contracted amount since she “probably thinks she’s gonna die soon and she’ll want to leave more money for her family.”

Kyedae addresses Kick rumors

As the streaming community reacted with disgust over Kick’s alleged rude treatment of Kyedae, Felix “xQc” Lengyel — who signed a $100 million contract with Kick — defended the platform. He claimed that Kick never reached out to Kyedae at all.

On a June 19 stream, Kyedae decided to speak on the situation herself She said she got an offer from Kick and declined it.

She explained: “I decided that morally, I didn’t really want to go over to Kick.”

But did they also say the disturbing things about her cancer status? That is not something Kyedae would know since it was said behind closed doors before offering her a contract. She did say, however, that “it doesn’t matter” if they tried to “exploit” her for cancer “because the platform’s f—ing dying.”

Kyedae continued: “I think it’s true. I don’t think there’s a point in her lying. I’ve heard so much worse about my illness that it doesn’t really bother me.”
