Arsenal scout Euro 2024 goalscorer as Wolves make Pedro Neto transfer decision

A round-up of the latest Arsenal news as the Gunners order scouts to watch a Real Madrid ace at Euro 2024 and Wolves make a key decision on Pedro Neto’s transfer.

Kobbie Mainoo thinks Declan Rice is worth ‘every penny’ of the £100m Arsenal paid

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo believes Declan Rice is worth ‘every penny’ of the £100m Arsenal spent for his transfer. The 19-year-old cannot help but praise Rice having trained and played beside the 25-year-old for England as they bid to challenge at Euro 2024.

Rice has astounded Mainoo with his reliability and ability to dominate midfield battles after the Red Devils gem first joined the senior England team this March. Rice is one of the Three Lions’ most important players and sits on 52 caps after starting in their 1-0 win over Serbia.

The way the London native can conduct play on the ball further convinces Mainoo that Rice proved he was worth Arsenal paying West Ham United a club-record fee. He cost Arsenal an initial £100m, rising to £105m, to sign last July and featured in all 38 of their league fixtures.

“He’s such a good player, so reliable and dominant in midfield,” Mainoo said about Rice in a press conference on Tuesday ahead of England’s second Euro 2024 game against Denmark.

“It’s always a joy to have someone so strong on the ball next to you and you can always trust him on the pitch. He’s worth every penny and he’s proved that.”

Wolves believe they could sell Arsenal target Pedro Neto in the coming weeks

Wolves believe the Molineux outfit could sell Pedro Neto in the coming weeks after marking the Arsenal target as their big-money sale for this summer. That is according to Dean Jones, who reports that the Gunners are considering reviving their pursuit of the Portugal forward.

Mikel Arteta is determined for Arsenal to sign an attacking player to add fresh life to his side next season. Neto has long been one forward player on Arsenal’s radar but suffered injuries to both hamstrings last term. The 24-year-old only played 20 fixtures in the Premier League.

Arsenal remain admirers of Neto, despite his fitness issues, as the forward still managed to assist nine and score two goals. The attacker even created Portugal’s 92nd-minute winning goal against the Czech Republic in their Euro 2024 opener after three minutes on the pitch.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have scouts at Euro 2024 to follow Real Madrid and Turkey forward Arda Guler. That is according to Caught Offside, which reports that AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain were also in the stands against Georgia on Tuesday.

Guler scored a wondergoal to put Turkey 2-1 ahead en route to a 3-1 win to start Group F in Germany. The 19-year-old fired a rocket into the far corner of the net from outside the area. It followed Guler scoring six goals in 10 La Liga fixtures as Los Blancos won the 2023/24 title.

His Premier League suitors are considering approaching the Galacticos to ask for information regarding a summer move now, too. But Real Madrid want to keep Guler as he is already an important first-team player. A meniscus injury in his right knee delayed his season into 2024.
