'No one beats him': Luke Shaw admits he would simply never be able to beat £50m Man City player in a race

Luke Shaw has admitted that he would never be able to beat one Manchester City player in a race.

The Manchester United defender has faced Manchester City on 17 occasions across all competitions during his career.

As a result, Shaw must be accustomed to a majority of their players’ attributes due to having gone toe-to-toe with them for several years now.

In the England squad, the 28-year-old has also played alongside Phil Foden, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips.

Luke Shaw makes fresh claim about how quick Kyle Walker is

At Old Trafford, the Englishman has also had the experience of playing alongside several players renowned for their pace.

Names like Marcus Rashford, Dan James and Antonio Valencia instantly spring to mind.

However, when asked on LADbible TV whether he would beat Walker in a race, Shaw instantly moved the bottle in question to the ‘strongly disagree’ side of the table.

The former Southampton left-back replied: “That’s easy.”

Jordan Pickford said: “You wouldn’t be far off though, would you? Let’s be honest, because you’re fast.”

Shaw replied: “There’s no one.”

Pickford said: “No one beats him.”

Shaw stated: “I don’t think I’d be far.”

When quizzed about whether Walker is the quickest player he has ever played with, Shaw said: “Yeah.”

“Daniel James was fast though, he was really quick.”

Jarrod Bowen asked: “Do you think he could do it?”

Shaw answered: “But I don’t think he’ll beat Walks. I don’t think anyone can beat Walks because he’s so strong so if they get close, he’ll just…[outmuscle them].”

Kyle Walker would easily beat Luke Shaw in a race

As Shaw admitted, it would be impossible for him to beat Walker in a race.

Perhaps the versatile defender could compete with the £50 million man were one to occur.

One of Shaw’s best attributes as a player is how quick he is when driving with the ball at his feet.

But when Walker does so, it is impossible for most players to catch him and in addition, the United colossus is not one of the quickest players in world football.

Without the ball, the City right-back, described as “rapid” by Danny Welbeck is even faster.

With that in mind, a race between Shaw and Walker would only result in one winner and that would be the latter.
