‘I feel sorry for him’: Micah Richards left gutted after what’s happened to £25m Arsenal player at Euro 2024

Micah Richards has expressed his sympathy for one Arsenal star after what happened at Euro 2024 yesterday.

It’s been a mostly positive start to Euro 2024 for Arsenal players, with Kai Havertz already picking up two victories with Germany and booking his spot in the knockout stages.

Bukayo Saka also played a key role in England’s 1-0 win over Serbia on Sunday and looks set to start against Denmark tonight.

But Kieran Tierney has endured a tough start to the tournament in Germany. The Gunners full-back was in action for Scotland last night, with Steve Clarke’s men aiming to bounce back from a 5-1 defeat to Germany.

In what was an improved performance from the Scots, they picked up a deserved 1-1 draw against Switzerland and remain in with a chance of qualifying for the knockout rounds.

However, Tierney was stretchered off on the hour mark and looks set to miss their final group game against Hungary.

Richards gutted for Kieran Tierney after injury blow

Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Richards admitted he feels sorry for Tierney after the Arsenal star picked up an injury last night.

“I feel sorry for Tierney because when he was up in Scotland at Celtic he was immense,” the former Manchester City man said. “Everyone was talking about he’s better than Andy Robertson.

“He comes down and plays for Arsenal, does alright, gets injured. They bring in another left-back. Goes to Sociedad and it’s not really worked out. Then just as he gets his form going and he gets injured.”

Tierney set for summer exit

After a loan spell at Real Sociedad last season, Tierney looks set to head out the door permanently this summer.

The £25 million man is reportedly eager to secure a move and will be hopeful his injury doesn’t impact a possible switch.

Tierney has been unfortunate with injuries in recent years and his latest blow will be devastating for him given Scotland have a chance to qualify for the knockout stages.
