Ukrainian border guards repelled a Russian assault in the Siversk sector. The Russian occupants were attacking with the support of a tank, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

"The Russian armored group, supported by a tank and two infantry fighting vehicles, was moving towards Ukrainian positions," the Ukrainian border guards say.

The anti-tankers of the border guard brigade Revenge destroyed two enemy infantry fighting vehicles with a Corsair ATGM, and a unit of the Armed Forces shot down a Russian tank.

"Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the Russian attack was repelled, seven Russian occupants were eliminated, and one was seriously wounded," the SBGS adds.

Situation at front

Since the beginning of the day, June 19, the number of combat engagements on the front line has increased to 59. Two firefights continue near Vovchansk.

According to the Institute for War Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently recaptured Tykhe and areas in the southern and central parts of Starytsia, near Vovchansk. However, the Russian shelling of the city with guided aerial bombs indicates that the Russian occupiers may be preparing for a limited offensive on Vovchansk in the coming days.
