Liverpool players are moving into their second round of games at Euro 2024.
It was a mixed opening matchday for those involved in the tournament in Germany, with some doing well and others struggling.
Cody Gakpo, for example, had an excellent goal-scoring game for the Netherlands against Poland and will surely have made Arne Slot sit up and take note.
Others such as Andy Robertson – who lost 5-1 to Germany with Scotland – were not quite so eye-catching.
Robertson was back in action on Wednesday, his team securing a 1-1 draw with Switzerland and a nice reunion with Xherdan Shaqiri. But it was another member of the Liverpool squad who captured the imagination of Brentford manager Thomas Frank.

Some Liverpool supporters would perhaps prefer that their players exit the summer tournaments as soon as possible.
It’s set to be another big season back at Anfield as the Slot era gets underway. Maybe an elongated rest before launching into that would be the preferred route.
In that respect, those supporters look set to get their way with Dominik Szoboszlai. Liverpool’s No.8 looked set to star for Hungary this summer, but things haven’t gone to plan.
The Hungarians fell to their second successive defeat on Wednesday and their prospects of making the knockout rounds now look bleak.

But while the Hungarian national press were critical of Szoboszlai against Germany, Brentford boss Frank gave a different analysis.
Speaking to the BBC during half-time of Germany’s 2-0 win, Frank claimed that Szoboszlai had in fact been ‘fantastic’ during the game’s opening 45 minutes.
“Fantastic first half for him. Everything is going through him,” raved the Danish coach. “For me his all round game – he is intercepting a pass, his dynamic runs in general have been fantastic.
“Another thing I like is that it looks like Szoboszlai needs to close down Kroos when he can, which is helping Hungary” Frank adds. “He has that quality. He is the star man. Everything so far is coming from him.”
What next for Dominik Szoboszlai and Hungary?
With 0 points from two games, it now looks unlikely that Hungary will make it through from Group A.
However, their final game against Scotland is on paper the easiest one of the three fixtures.
If they can beat the Scots, there’s still a chance that Hungary can qualify as one of the best third-placed teams of the group stage.
That is now the only way Szoboszlai and co will be heading into the knockout rounds. Switzerland have four points and Germany six meaning that neither can be caught by the Hungarians.
Their game against Scotland is scheduled for Sunday, as Szoboszlai and Robertson meet as captain. Anything other than a win and Hungary are headed home.
