Petr Cech picks who’s better out of Ederson and Alisson

The former Chelsea and Arsenal star was involved in a winner-stays-on challenge video recently shared on the Daily Mail Sport TikTok channel.

When asked to pick between Ederson and Alisson, Cech chose the Liverpool goalkeeper over the City star.

City paid £35m to sign Ederson from Benfica back in the 2017 summer transfer window.

During his time at the Manchester club, the 30-year-old has kept 155 clean sheets and won six Premier League titles in 332 appearances across all competitions.

In comparison, Alisson has kept 114 clean sheets in 263 appearances for Liverpool, who spent a then-world-record fee of £67m to sign the Brazilian.

Ederson and Alisson are two of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League

Even though the Reds ‘keeper ended the previous Premier League campaign with a higher save percentage than his fellow countryman (73.4% vs 70.7%), former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy recently claimed that Ederson is one of the best footballing goalkeepers in Premier League history.

While both Brazilians have undoubtedly been key figures for their respective clubs since their arrival in England, the fact that Cech picked Alisson over Ederson suggested that he values the Liverpool star’s shot-stopping ability over Ederson’s impressive distribution.
