ITYT: Discussing Dia Bell’s recruiting impact, Loreal Sarkisian’s role, much more

On Wednesday night, Joe Cook, Drew Kelson, Paul Wadlington, and Eric Nahlin took to YouTube to answer questions from both Inside Texas readers and YouTube viewers alike.

One topic was Dia Bell‘s recruiting impact on the 2026 class. Being the No. 2 quarterback in the class while also hailing from south Florida is going to give the class a big boost according to Nahlin. Bell will serve as a great “attention getting device” for the program from prospects who typically look to schools in Florida and the deep southeast first. In general, prospects tend to gravitate to really highly rated quarterbacks. His father, Raja Bell, being a former pro athlete won’t hurt either.

Wadlington answers an IT forum question regarding Steve Sarkisian‘s ownership of how the program operates. Wadlington mentions that ownership is 100%, though Paul wonders what percentage of the program is influenced by Sark’s previous experiences under Lavell Edwards, Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, and overcoming his own hardships.

Quality IT reader and YouTube viewer HuffTex wonders if Loreal Sarkisian can become as important to the program as Sally Brown was. Kelson, who has direct experience of Brown’s time at Texas, responds that she probably can and adds that it’s nice having that sort of presence around the program. Nahlin notes that she benefits in many ways and has even positively influenced some recruitments.

Another topic brought over from Inside Texas was, what aspect of any SEC program would you want to see take root at Texas. Paul mentions more lax enrollment requirements, Eric states some of those stereotypical SEC compliance offices would make life easier, while Drew mentions the revolving door of sizable defensive tackles who can move. Wadlington quips that often all three of those aspects are intertwined in the SEC.

The crew goes on to discuss much more.
