Georgia QB commit Ryan Montgomery named a top performer of Elite11 Day 2

Georgia quarterback commit Ryan Montgomery is among the twenty best signal callers in the nation who’ve descended upon Los Angeles for the annual Elite 11 competition, and on Wednesday evening, he showed just why he belonged in that fold.

Earlier in the evening, Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings, said of the rising senior:

“Georgia commit Ryan Montgomery finishes up 16/20. Played fast and really threw the ball instead of aiming it.”

But Power continued to be impressed with the Bulldogs’ commit throughout the evening, noting the pace with which the Ohio native attacked the drill work laid out for the day:

Ryan Montgomery showed the ability to play with pace and timing in his pro day. While some other quarterbacks operated with a measured tempo, Montgomery went full speed and was able to perform well despite the higher level of difficulty. The Georgia commit showed no hesitation in letting it rip and threw with confidence. Montgomery showed solid arm strength. While he’s not a top athlete at the position, his footwork and drops were sound. Overall, it was a solid showing for Montgomery.”

For his efforts, Montgomery was named the No. 10 overall performer by On3 for Day 2 of the Elite 11.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 188 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 and No. 13 overall quarterback in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, Montgomery committed to the Bulldogs over the likes of Florida and South Carolina in April of this year.

Ryan Montgomery ready for the opportunity

The opportunity to participate in the competition this week was clearly one the Georgia commit relished and looked forward to for some time throughout his high school career, something he made clear to Chad Simmons ahead of the trip.

“The Elite 11 is competition against the country’s best and seeing how we stack up against each other,” Montgomery told On3. “Being able to be coached by some of the best with great knowledge is exciting and I want to make the most of it. I’ve been striving to be a part of it as one of my goals. For it to come to reality is pretty cool, so I’m pretty excited…It’s the best quarterback fraternity in the country. If you’re an Elite 11 finalist, you’re always going to be able to say that you were. I want to be coached hard. I want to learn as much as I can. While out there, I will take note and be a sponge to improve as much as I can.”

Georgia was earlier involved with USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis and Missouri quarterback commit Matt Zollers in the Class of 2025, both of whom are on-hand in Los Angeles for the competition.
