Mark Foster holds bespoke swimming clinics for Bishop’s Stortford College students

Six-time world champion Mark Foster passed on his wealth of experience to Bishop’s Stortford College students at a bespoke swim clinic.

The former Team GB member, who won 47 major international titles during his career and went to five Olympics, worked with members of the performance and junior squads at the Maze Green Road school.

Foster, who competed primarily in 50m butterfly and freestyle, told pupils about the mindset required to navigate the highs and lows of competitive swimming and emphasised the importance of resilience and determination in the face of setbacks.

Following the classroom-based session on June 11, the college’s performance squad swimmers participated in an intensive swimming stroke clinic, led by Foster, which provided them with tips, techniques and personalised feedback for improving their skills and performance.

The junior squad swimmers also received a bespoke experience with the star in a swim clinic.

“Mark Foster’s visit was truly a highlight for our school swim teams and we are incredibly grateful for the time and knowledge he shared with our swimmers,” said the college’s head of aquatics Ashley Bygrave.
