Arsenal fans deliver Declan Rice verdict as England draw with Denmark at Euro 2024

Arsenal fans have given their reaction to Declan Rice’s performance at Euro 2024 after England’s 1-1 draw against Denmark.

The Three Lions were unable to build from their tense 1-0 win against Serbia on Sunday as Gareth Soutgate’s side drew to Denmark after Harry Kane took the lead in the first-half, with rumoured Arsenal fan Morten Hjulmand scoring a screamer to see the points shared.

With Rice impressing against Serbia, it’s no surprise that the 25-year-old Arsenal midfielder was again named in the starting XI, with fellow Emirates Stadium teammate Bukayo Saka also lined up against Denmark, having also shone on Sunday.

Whilst the 22-year-old winger was brought off in the second-half as Southgate looked to shake up the attack with a surprise triple change, Rice completed the full 90 as England struggled to find a way through a stubborn Denmark defence.

With the former West Ham captain coming off his best season yet in terms of goal contributions, Rice settling into a deeper role might come as an annoyance for Arsenal fans, who know just how good the England superstar can be when allowed to push forward.

Despite that, Arsenal fans enjoyed what they saw from Rice in Frankfurt.

Arsenal fans impressed by Rice despite another poor England team performance

Many Arenal fans took to Twitter to praise Rice after the match.

One fan wrote: “Rice pressing the 6 in that position is absolute cash money. Shame it’s a rarity for England.”

Another Gooner stated during the match: “Rice has been our best player so far, winning duels and making important tackles. Jude too quiet. Better from Foden. Can see they all look frustrated. Need to do better.”

An Arsenal also said: “Rice and Saka playing like they’re back at Arsenal and it’s April out there”
