Apple releases Final Cut Pro updates for iPad and Mac, new iPhone app

Apple on Thursday announced that Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 are now available. Existing users of the software can get the new versions for free in the App Store. The new software includes features that were revealed in May.

Apple has also released Final Cut Camera for iPhone (free), which is the companion app required to use the Live MultiCam feature in Final Cut for iPad 2. It does work on its own and offers more professional controls for adjusting video during a shoot than the regular Camera app.

Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8

The release notes for Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 details the new features and bug fixes:

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is available through a subscription fee of $4.99/£4.99 per month or $49/£49 per year. Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 has a one-time licensing fee of $299.99/£299.99.
