Club desperate to sign Mason Greenwood, they have released new red kit to tempt him to join

There is no future for Mason Greenwood at Manchester United, but his career continues, and is set to take a new direction.

Clubs in Spain and Italy are fighting it out for Mason Greenwood’s signature. In recent days, Lazio, Valencia, and Juventus have all been linked.

It speaks volumes for how Mason Greenwood is regarded, with talent trumping off-field concerns. Clubs view the Manchester United academy prospect as a potentially elite talent worth taking a gamble on.

It really would suit United for a bidding war to break out, amid a clamour for his services in 2024/25 and beyond.

Getafe have not given up on Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood was rescued from obscurity last deadline day by Spanish side Getafe, who signed him with an hour to spare.

The La Liga side provided a low-key environment for Greenwood to revive his career away from the spotlight, and play football for the first time in 18 months since his arrest.

During his time in Spain, Greenwood played regular football, featuring in 33 La Liga games, 30 as a starter.

He struck eight league goals and provided six assists, and at a stronger team, with a pre-season behind him, 2024/25 could be a big year for him, wherever he is playing.

Getafe have not given up hope that Greenwood might decide he needs stability, and might push to sign with them.

Getafe send message to Greenwood

Getafe recognise Mason Greenwood has played his last game for the club this season, but dream he might want to stay.

They released a picture on their X account showcasing their new red kit for next season, launching a charm offensive towards the Manchester United loanee.

The image also featured a separate picture of Greenwood, with the words: “Our new red jersey for Mason”.

Greenwood, 22, has already said his goodbyes to Getafe, with an Instagram message three weeks ago, indicating he does not expect to return.

He wrote: “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season, Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club

“A bitter sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best 💙 @getafecf.”
