Fuller lips without Botox -- it's a subject that beauty aficionados on TikTok have been talking about for several months now. In the quest for natural solutions that give results similar to those of cosmetic procedures, users of the Chinese social network are outdoing one another with a series of viral hacks that are both effective and surprising. Makeup artist Mary Phillips recently caused a sensation on the Asian platform when she plumped up her lips with a simple lip pencil applied to a strategic spot, the Cupid's bow, while another method, the 'lip combo' uses layering of lip pencil and gloss, obtaining hundreds of millions of views. More recently, 'double glossing' has gone viral for the same reasons, this time using lip oil followed by lip gloss.

So you can see that much ingenuity has been dedicated to plumping up lips without surgery, and, if possible, without spending a lot of money. And that's just what American actress Anne Hathaway has come up with. While her talent for performing is well-recognized, she's less known for her beauty tips. And yet, the heroine of "The Devil Wears Prada" possesses a smile that is almost as legendary as that of Julia Roberts. A fact she probably owes to the tip she shared a few days ago on the Chinese social network.

"So this is little tip on LipTok," starts the actress in a one-minute video. Surrounded by her team, who are busy working on her hair, she explains that she's on the set of a new beauty campaign, and realized that her upper lip wasn't in the best shape, tending to look "wilted." Anne Hathaway then asked her hairdresser to give her a hairpin, then gently tapped it on her lip to massage it. This gesture is said to give the lip a boost by activating the blood circulation, resulting in more volume.

"I stimulated my lip to try and get some blood flow back there to get some circulation, and everyone looked at me like I had three heads," continues the American actress. Instead of using makeup, or even turning to injections, this trick can give you a plumped-up mouth in just a few seconds. However, it's important to do it correctly. As Anne Hathaway points out, it's essential to go slowly and gently: the gesture should be delicate and not exceed 30 seconds. It's a simple enough exercise to do on a daily basis, and one that can help all those who want to achieve a luscious mouth without fillers.
