The Russian oil refineries that were successfully hit today, June 21, were producing fuel oil for the Black Sea Fleet, according to RBC-Ukraine sources.

The night strikes on the refineries and the proving ground for Shahed drones were carried out as part of a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Proving ground for Shaheds was hit

According to the sources, the attack targeted the proving ground of the 167th training center in the town of Yeysk. From there, Russia is launching Shaheds against Ukraine.

There is also a warehouse with Iranian UAVs and barracks where drone operators live there.

Strikes on oil refineries

There were also hits on Russian refineries, namely Afipsky, Ilsky, and in the Krasnodar region

According to sources, these refineries are key in the southern district of Russia. They produce fuel oil for ships of the Black Sea Fleet.

Damaging the refineries will complicate the logistics of fuel oil supplies, making them more expensive and time-consuming, as Russia will have to supply it from other refineries.

Strikes on Russia

In recent months, the Ukrainian forces have been actively attacking critical facilities in Russia, oil refineries in particular. As an example, yesterday, SSU drones successfully attacked Russian oil depots in the Tambov region and the Republic of Adygea.

In mid-May, the SSU, together with Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, attacked a seaport, refinery, and oil terminal in Sevastopol, Tuapse, and Novorossiysk.
