Today, June 21, John Bass, the United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, arrived in Kyiv, according to the X account of US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.

According to Brink, during his visit, Bass is to meet with Ukrainian government officials as well as other partners.

The purpose of his trip is to reaffirm the United States' unwavering support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

US assistance to Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, the United States has been one of Kyiv's main allies. Washington provides Ukraine not only with humanitarian and financial support but also with military support. For example, in early June, US President Joe Biden announced a new aid package that includes missiles, HIMARS ammunition, howitzers, armored personnel carriers, and more.

Moreover, the United States recently announced the allocation of $1.5 billion in aid to Ukraine, which will be used for the energy sector and humanitarian needs.
