Four-star forward Trent Sisley, a significant target for Notre Dame men’s basketball in the class of 2025, has the Irish in his top five.

Sisley told On3’s Joe Tipton that he trimmed his list down to Purdue, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State and Notre Dame, in no particular order. The 6-foot-7 forward from Lincoln City (Ind.) Heritage Hills has officially visited Iowa and will take OVs to the other four finalists in the fall.

His Notre Dame official visit will take place Sept. 28.

“Ever since [head coach Micah] Shrewsberry got the job, he has been in constant contact with me and my family,” Sisley told Tipton.

The No. 77 player in the On3 Industry Ranking told Tipton he’ll likely make a decision shortly after he completes his visits. The final one, Michigan State, is scheduled for Oct. 12.

Trent Sisley, dad Matt Sisley talk Notre Dame interest

O’Rourke’s on Eddy Street is rarely a bad idea. Sisley and his family discovered that on June 12.

Sisley and company went out to dinner and watched Game 3 of the NBA Finals at O’Rourke’s that night. The following morning, he starred for Lincoln City (Ind.) Heritage Hills at Notre Dame’s boys basketball Team Camp.

The Irish have done their best to make the No. 16 power forward and No. 77 overall player in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking feel at home in South Bend.

“[Dinner] was good,” Sisley told local reporters after his first Team Camp game against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks. “Just got to chat with them a little bit, watch the Celtics [whom Shrewsberry coached as an assistant from 2013-19].”

Irish head coach Micah Shrewsberry and assistant coach Ryan Owens have led an effort that has them in the thick of Sisley’s recruitment as he enters his official visits. Sisley’s dad, Matt, has maintained a personal friendship with Owens for years — well before Trent Sisley became a college prospect and certainly before Owens, who previously coached the Indy Heat EYBL 17U squad while Sisley played in the league, joined Notre Dame.

Blue & Gold can confirm Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten’s report that Sisley will take four official visits this fall: Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State and Notre Dame.

“Constant contact,” Matt Sisley told Blue & Gold. “Coach Shrewsberry came to our high school twice. That means a lot, constant communication with Trent and our family, coming straight from the head coach.

“And also their style of play. It’s position less basketball. It’s modern, fits Trent’s game, which is length and shooting ability and athleticism, putting the ball on the floor. It’s just a good fit.”

Trent Sisley visited Notre Dame last summer as well, and he and his family have enjoyed each of their trips.

“Yeah, it’s the same thing,” Matt Sisley said. “It’s Coach Shrewsberry, the staff. It’s like that every time we’re there. They obviously want Trent, and they are very cordial, very welcoming, very easy to talk to for my wife and I. We just enjoy being around them.”
