Arsenal star hailed as 'brilliant' after Euro 2024 result, he could leave this summer

BBC Sport pundit Clinton Mirrson has showered an Arsenal player with praise after their impressive performance at Euro 2024, though rumours suggest he could depart.

This summer’s competition in Germany has been a blast from the viewpoint of an Arsenal fan, with Kai Havertz showing his newfound attacking class by leading the line for Germany, as William Saliba has finally become a defensive juggernaut for France after two exceptional seasons with the Gunners.

On the other side of the coin, though, it’s been frustrating in parts for Arsenal fans in regards to players who could do with being sold, most notably Kieran Tierney, who has already left the Euros early after picking up a hamstring injury.

Oleksandr Zinchenko wins plaudits after Ukraine’s comeback win vs Slovakia

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, pundit Morrison was full of praise for Oleksandr Zinchenko as the Ukraine captain played a key role in his nation coming from behind to win 2-1 against Slovakia in what was another highly entertaining fixture.

With Zinchenko rumoured with a move away from Arsenal this summer, all good performances at the Euros could be key in the Gunners offloading the fullback, who in his midfield role for Ukraine again showed his class on the international stage.

Morrison said about Ukraine’s comeback win against Slovakia yesterday: “It is brilliant for Ukraine, the players, the fans, a fantastic second half performance to come back and get a big win.

“The first half Slovakia were the better team but credit to Ukraine, their big players stepped up. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mykhailo Mudryk were brilliant down that left hand side. Then the goal from Roman Yaremchuk to win it.”

Arsenal will hope Zinchenko goes far at the Euros with Ukraine

Whilst Tierney’s Euros journey is over, Zinchenko has now breathed new life into Ukraine’s after their enthralling comeback win against Slovakia, with the Arsenal defender now in with a shot of progressing to the next round.

And for the Gunners, they will be hopeful that Zinchenko and Ukraine can do just that, with a market there to be exploited for the fullback if the former Manchester City star can now keep performing at the Euros.

Indeed, Zinchenko being sold this summer would be viewed as quite a win for Arsenal, and good performances this summer at the Euros would make the process a lot easier, with interested clubs slowly starting to creep to the surface.
