LSU has landed a second commitment in the span of 24 hours as Tampa 4-star Jesse Harrold has announced his verbal pledge to the Tigers.
Harrold, a 6-foot-5, 207 pound defensive end, is a Top 100 prospect and a Top 10 EDGE rusher on the On3 Rankings, checking in at No. 66 overall, regardless of position.
With the addition of the 4-star, LSU inched closer to Ohio State in the push to retake the No. 1 spot in the On3 Team Recruiting Rankings for the 2025 class. The Tigers still hold the No. 2 class on the On3 Industry Rankings, and the gap has now widened between LSU and Alabama at No. 3. Georgia and Clemson round out the Top 5 of the recruiting rankings.
It’s the first EDGE rusher commitment for the Tigers in the 2025 cycle, which gives first-year LSU defensive ends coach Kevin Peoples a highly-touted addition to get things rolling at the position.
On Friday, the Tigers reeled in 2026 New Orleans 4-star Richard Anderson, who is ranked by On3 as a Top 10 defensive tackle for next year’s recruiting class.
Harrold made an official visit to LSU on the weekend of June 14, then backed off previously planned official visits to Georgia and Texas A&M. Instead, Harrold dialed up the Tigers and gave LSU his commitment.
With 13 commitments, the addition of Harrold gives LSU seven Top 100 commits for the 2025 class.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine had LSU as the leader entering his announcement after a wave of picks came in from On3’s Steve Wiltfong and The Bengal Tiger’s Shea Dixon and Billy Embody.
LSU also holds the On3 RPM lead for another Top 100 EDGE prospect in Damien Shanklin, and On3 RPM flip picks have been made for LSU to land Houston commitment and Louisiana native Reshad Sterling, who picked up an offer from the Tigers earlier this month.
