Oregon fans may have gotten a preview of the Ducks’ future offense on Saturday.
Four-star quarterback commit Akili Smith Jr. posted a photo alongside Five-Star Plus+ No. 1 wide receiver Dakorien Moore from their official visit to Eugene this weekend.
Moore decommitted from LSU last month before taking official visits to Ohio State, Texas and Oregon in addition to Baton Rouge.
Moore is the nation’s No. 3 overall prospect, No. 1 wide receiver and No. 1 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Oregon recently hired Ra’Shaad Samples as their new running backs coach. Moore spoke about Samples, whose father is the head coach at Duncanville.
“I feel like Coach Samp is a good player. I knew him before he really got all the way into college football. Obviously his dad is my coach so I know everything that his dad is teaching me is what he taught his son. So I feel like he’s been coached well, he’s been taught well,” Moore told On3 last month at the On3 Elite Series.
“He’s grown up to be a great man and mentor that I could trust. So him being there definitely gave them (Oregon) a slight advantage but he just got there, so I can’t just them on the season that they had and stuff like that. He plays a factor but not too big.”
Akili Smith fresh off of Elite 11 Finals appearance
Smith participated in the Elite 11 Finals out in Los Angeles earlier this week.
“I felt like I did pretty good in the beginning,” Smith told On3. “Definitely did pretty good in the Panini challenge. Ended up falling short at the end. Scored like a 34 in the beginning and then at the end just scored like an 18 so my score was a little low over there. And then in the Pro Day, (I) caught some fire in the beginning and my arm started to hurt a little bit. No excuses though I should have made every pass. It’s all good. I’m looking forward to seeing the score over that.”
Smith also touched on the loaded official visit weekend in Eugene.
“It’s great,” he said of all the talent coming to town. “I’m definitely gonna try to do some recruiting out there, make sure we get a bunch of guys coming in. I’m feeling strong about maybe a couple of guys, don’t really want to name them, just so I don’t name drop, but I’m feeling pretty strong on a couple guys, hopefully they commit.”
