Ryan Prager describes emotions of being one of the final two teams in Omaha

Texas A&M is on the verge of a baseball national championship, one of two teams left standing ahead of the best-of-three national championship series beginning on Saturday evening in Omaha. And one of the Aggies aces, Ryan Prager, wants to keep perspective on the moment.

For Prager, the journey back to the Men’s College World Series has been long. He was a freshman on the Texas A&M team that made it to Omaha in 2022, then didn’t play in 2023 due to injury. So for as much as the focus is on winning two out of the next three against a potent Tennessee team, Prager is going to make sure to savor the moment a bit.

“I mean, I think being back this time I’ve been able to take it in a little more, I think enjoy it,” Prager said. “And I think just the whole experience of it is a little bit better. One, a little bit more comfortable with it and this group of guys and everything.”

The task of winning a national championship still takes precedent, though, and for Prager and the Aggies the Vols present a formidable foe. The two squads only met once in 2024, a 7-4 win for Tennessee in the 2024 SEC tournament.

With a few more cracks at the Vols, Prager is hopeful the good memories to savor won’t run out.

“I think we’ve truly been able to take care of business and play baseball, but also enjoy it when we’re off the field,” Prager said. “And to be one of the last two here, it’s super exciting. We’re super grateful for it. We’ve put ourselves in this position. And just really excited to basically play a three-game series and try to be the first one to win two games.”

The Aggies got a serious sendoff ahead of Game 1 on Saturday

The Texas A&M fans were out in full force Saturday ahead of Game 1 of the College World Series final against Tennessee. Video emerged on Twitter/X of several Aggie faithful joining together to sing the school fight song as the team chases its first national championship.

It was an electric scene that one would expect for a game of such magnitude. The noise was hard to ignore as fans swayed back and forth with their arms, and you can view the moment for yourself below.

the first pitch for Saturday’s contest is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.
