Thirteen of 16 knock-out berths still up for grabs at Euro 2024

Spain and Portugal are already confirmed as Euro 2024 group winners, hosts Germany are also into the knock-out stages, but the other 13 spots are still up for grabs, most notably in Group E where all for teams are tied on points.

The two top teams from each of the six groups advance along with the four best third-place finishers.

Following are the most important permutations for the final matchday starting on Sunday:

Group A: Germany 6 points, Switzerland 4, Scotland 1, Hungary 0

Germany are in the last 16 and will win the group if they avoid defeat against Switzerland. The Swiss will finish top if they win and need a point to make absolutely sure of advancing. Scotland can advance with a victory over Hungary, who also need victory to have a chance of progressing in third place.

Group B: Spain 6, Italy 3, Croatia 1, Albania 1

Spain have won the group by virtue of their win against Italy. They finish against Albania who must win to stay in contention, just like Croatia against Italy. The title holders Italy need a point to clinch second place and will be eliminated if they lose and Albania beat Spain.

Group C: England 4, Denmark 2, Slovenia 2, Serbia 1

England play Slovenia and Denmark face Serbia, with multiple scenarios possible. England will win the group if they beat Slovenia, a draw is also enough for first place if Denmark fail to beat Serbia, and second place if they lose and Serbia beat Denmark. Denmark can remain second with a draw as long as England win. Serbia must win to stay alive.

Group D: Netherlands 4, France 4, Austria 3, Poland 0

The Dutch play Austria and France face Poland, who are the only side already eliminated. The Dutch and French will advance with victory or if they draw, with goal difference then the tie-breaker. Austria may still advance as third-placed team if they lose while a victory will see them finish at least second.

Group E: Romania 3, Belgium 3, Slovakia 3, Ukraine 3

According to statisticians Opta it is the first time at the Euros that all four teams in a group enter the final matchday tied on points. Romania are top by virtue of a 3-2 goal difference, ahead of Belgium (2-1), Slovakia (2-2) and Ukraine (2-4). Romania play Slovakia and Belgium take on Ukraine. The winners will advance as top two but if both matches end in a draw Romania and Belgium will remain top two and Slovakia possible also through. If Belgium's draw is one goal higher than Romania's they will be on identical goal difference, with disciplinary rankings the next tie-breaker.

Group F: Portugal 6, Turkey 3, Czech Republic 1, Georgia 1

Portugal have won the group ahead of their final match with Georgia. Turkey will finish second if they avoid defeat against the Czechs, who like Georgia must win to stand a chance. If both win Turkey are eliminated.
