Coveted in-state OL commits to Alabama

Coveted Class of 2025 offensive lineman Micah DeBose.

Kalen DeBoer‘s Alabama football program has landed yet another in-state offensive lineman target. On Saturday, Mobile (Ala.) offensive lineman Micah DeBose announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

DeBose, formerly a University of Georgia pledge, joined forces with Bama during his official visit to the school this weekend. The product of Vigor High School has now visited The Capstone four times since the start of April, with his most recent trip prior to this one being June 4.

DeBose’s commitment comes just over a week after fellow Alabama-based offensive lineman Mal Waldrep joined the Tide’s class.

Per the On3 Industry Rankings, DeBose is the No. 123 overall prospect in the 2025 class. He’s also the No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the country. Whether it be interior o-lineman or tackle, DeBose is the highest-rated offensive lineman in the state of Alabama this cycle.

Alabama’s pursuit of DeBose began all the way back in February 2023. The former Tide staff dished out an offer to DeBose one month after his commitment to the Bulldogs. Nick Saban and his program got DeBose on campus four times following the offer, including a pair of game day trips.

Following Saban’s retirement, Bama re-offered DeBose a week later on Jan. 17. His school was one of DeBoer’s first stops during the January contact period. Shortly thereafter, DeBose went on record to say that the program remained in his top five.

It was not until April 3, however, that the four-star prospect visited Alabama for the first time post-Saban’s retirement. Thetrip made a strong impression on him, and eventually led to DeBose scheduling his May 3 and June 4 (set up later) unofficial visits, and an official visit the weekend of June 21-23.

DeBose joins a class that currently features six prospects from the state of Alabama. Along with DeBose and Waldrep, the others are Anthony Rogers, Antonio Coleman, Derick Smith, and Myles Johnson.

The Tide have also added Top-100 prospects Chuck McDonald, Jackson Lloyd, Keelon Russell, and Michael Carroll, as well as defensive lineman London Simmons and punter Alex Asparuhov, this month.
